My Homemade Journey
Welcome to Josie's Treats.
I grew up in Oberon, NSW, where admittedly there wasn't an awful lot to do. I spent my time learning how to cook from my wonderful mother, a trained chef.
As I grew into a teenager, I began working in hospitality and developed a dream to bring joy to those around me through incredible food. That is where my admiration for the community around homegrown produce began as well.
During lockdown, I put my baking skills to the test and I am now living in Smithtown and fortunate enough to be in a position to pursue my passion.
Every recipe has been tried and tested, ensuring everything is scrumptious and filled with love (and a bit of sugar).

What's In the Garden?
One of the first jobs when we moved to Smithtown was building ~14 square metres of veggie gardens.

February garden update:
-
Current produce: habanero chillis, butternut pumpkins, mint, olives & Roma tomatoes.
-
Seedlings: Watermelon, jalapeno chilli, sweet corn, cucumber & rock melon.
-
Seeds: sweet corn & birds eye chilli.

It is also time for me to pull out the string bean plants & prune the abundant star jasmines that surround the garden to help the pollinators.

What's going well: My habanero plant has always been very prolific and this year has been no different. I have been busy making strawberry & habanero jam which is amazing on a baked brie or to glaze meat.
