My Homemade Journey

Welcome to Josie's Treats.

I grew up in Oberon, NSW, where admittedly there wasn't an awful lot to do. I spent my time learning how to cook from my wonderful mother, a trained chef.

As I grew into a teenager, I began working in hospitality and developed a dream to bring joy to those around me through incredible food. That is where my admiration for the community around homegrown produce began as well.

During lockdown, I put my baking skills to the test and I am now living in Smithtown and fortunate enough to be in a position to pursue my passion.

Every recipe has been tried and tested, ensuring everything is scrumptious and filled with love (and a bit of sugar).

What's In the Garden?

One of the first jobs when we moved to Smithtown was building ~14 square metres of veggie gardens.

May garden update:

Due to the floods in March & cyclone Skye (my puppy) my vegetable garden is looking a little sad. May will be the month for me to finish weeding, turn all the soil & add perlite to help aerate before putting in some winter seeds like lettuce, snow peas and spinach.

What's going well: My tomatoes have been producing well this year. We have been having juicy homegrown tomatoes with our meals most days.
